About
Welcome to Honor Your Spirit, the home of conscious creation author Christopher Henning. Honor Your Spirit explores conscious creation, spirituality and self-development topics.
No, I’m not a sage. I’m not a guru. I’m not even “classically trained” in these subjects (read: I don’t have a fancy degree in religion, psychology, science or the such). What I am is a man interested in creating the best life possible for myself and for those around me. My quest for emotional and spiritual freedom has sent me in many directions over the years. I’ve read countless books on everything from being your own best friend to clearing your chakras in a flash. I’ve taken classes, I’ve gone to seminars and I’ve sat in more hours of meditation than I care to remember. Indeed each book, each seminar, each “sitting” helped me define who I am and where I want to be. But there was still something missing in my spiritual practice that wasn’t clicking until I stumbled upon an author who put it all together for me.
I was introduced to “channeled” works by a friend of mine who loaned me a copy of Money and the Law of Attraction by Esther & Jerry Hicks. In a trance state, Esther speaks for a group of non-physical teachers named Abraham. When my friend suggested the book, he also suggested I look past the channeling part and look at the content specifically. To be honest, I didn’t mind the “channeled thing.” The information made sense and I wanted more. In researching Esther & Jerry’s introduction to conscious creation, I read that they were heavily influenced by the work of Jane Roberts and “Seth,” another non-physical teacher. If I haven’t lost you yet, keep reading.
Speaking through Jane Roberts, Seth dictated more than 25 books as well as thousands of pages of material dedicated to teaching people that they “create their own reality through their thoughts, emotions and beliefs.” That in itself sounds simple on the surface, but it proves to be one of the most deceptively complex ideas you can imagine. I began reading and took a little over a year to complete the entire collection of the Seth Material. I was home. I had found spiritual concepts that made sense to me, that felt good and worth pursuing. So, reading was the first part (and still not the easiest). Next came the application of the material, a process which I suppose will be with me for the rest of my life.
That’s where this blog comes in. Learning to consciously create your reality takes some trial and error. As you understand the concepts you can begin to apply them and see how well you do. Conscious creation creates many things but mainly a lot more questions. And it’s those questions I hope to explore with my friends and followers. All of the complex subjects within conscious creation, spirituality and self-development are designed to do one primary thing: help us feel better and enjoy life. And when you enjoy life, you Honor Your Spirit in ways that will astound and amaze you.
I hope you’ll join me.

I’m looking forward to reading more about your experience with the Seth material/Jane Roberts’ books. I have not read all of the material yet, but I have read enough to know that I’ll be studying and practicing this material for a very long time time.

Chris, I’m very happy to have found your blog. I’ve read all of the Seth material, along with Abraham, and many of the classics as well. I look forward to hearing your insights.

Chris,
I know you’re an author, but would you ever consider coming to Texas to speak at a Seth Conference?
Love your blog,
Beth

I would be open to that. I presented at the Colorado Seth Conference in 2011 and had a wonderful time. I didn’t know there was a conference in Texas…where? when?

We are thinking about having a conference this fall, possibly in Austin. I am trying to figure out the best way to reach Seth readers in the Texas area. Most of the conferences are either on the East coast or the West coast, and that leaves out a lot of people in the middle of the country. I know that like me you are a happy graduate of Rick Stack’s SISC. He told a member of the ongoing class who lives in San Antonio that he has no intention of doing a conference in Texas; said it was too difficult to coordinate out of state. I have put on large meetings for up to 400 people in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area during the 1990s. These were not Seth-related, and there was only one speaker at a time. I think, however, that with a little help I could arrange a conference or at least a workshop.
I am definitely interested in having you join us if the time slot works for you. (I will keep you posted on exactly when and other details.) If you have any suggestions, especially in regard to how to reach other Sethies, I would be happy to receive them. Also, if you have ideas about other speakers with whom you are particularly impressed, I would be open to that info, too.
I’m sorry that it has taken me so long to answer you. I was expecting an email message and didn’t think to look online.
Your friend in Seth,
Beth
